Rape can be described as a forceful sexual relationship without consent.
Rape is a type of sexual assault usually involving
sexual intercourse or other forms of sexual penetration carried out against a person without that person's consent or violent penetratiion of a woman.

Worldwide, rape is primarily committed by males. Rape by strangers is usually less common than rape by persons the victim knows, and male-on-male and female-on-female prison rapes are common and may be the least reported forms of rape. The issue of rape cannot be over emphasized, the society has not grown to the stage where people boldly report cases of rape to the security, some are afraid of stigmatisation, some of the raped person can't voice out, they end up with psychological injuries.

There is no one right or wrong way to behave to avoid rape. But there are some things a woman can do that may make her less likely to suffer some kinds of rape. What a woman does depends on how well she knows the man, how afraid she is, and how much danger she thinks she is in. Remember, if a woman is raped, it is not because she failed to avoid the rape, but because someone stronger forced himself on her.

Teach children about the possibility that they may be touched sexually, and how to tell the difference between touching that is affectionate and touching that is sexual.
If possible, have girls and boys sleep separately, especially after age 7 to 10years years old.
Make sure children know who they can talk to if something should happen to them.
Believe a child who says he or she feels uncomfortable around an adult or older child no matter who that person is.
Sometimes sexual abuse of children continues for many years. A girl may be told that she will be harmed or even killed if she tells anyone about it.

Effects of Rape
The effects of rape can include both the initial physical trauma as well as deep psychological trauma. Although rape victims commonly report injuries and issues with their reproductive health after the sexual assault , rape doesn't always involve physical force. The most common and lasting effects of rape involve mental health concerns and diminished social confidence.
-The victim emotion is trampled upon
-The raped person is stigmatized
-The victim will be scandalized
-He/She will live with the trauma
-It can lead to unwanted pregnancy
-It can lead to sexual transmitted diseases (STDs)
-It can lead to a stop on his/her educational pursuit.
